In April 1952, eight people joined together and created CAFB Federal Credit Union, with its first branch located in an old barracks building on Cannon Air Force Base. Since then - with a name change to Cannon Federal Credit Union along the way - CFCU has flourished, now providing financial services to thousands of members in and around Clovis, New Mexico - including civilian and military personnel assigned to Cannon AFB, NAF employees, AAFES employees, residents of Roosevelt County, and many more.

CFCU is governed by a Board of Directors that establishes and reviews policy. The Directors are credit union members who are elected by the Membership and serve without compensation. Every member has a vote, regardless of how much they have on deposit. At CFCU, there is no select group of shareholders that profits more than another. All members profit individually and collectively.

CFCU is a federally-chartered credit union, organized under strict regulatory laws that are monitored and enforced by the National Credit Union Administration, an agency of the US Government. The NCUA insures each member account for $250,000.

Once a Member, Always a Member

Once a person joins CFCU, they remain a Member for life, even if the relationship to qualify changes, as long as the account remains open.
